大颈华人协会加入“总统志愿者奖”项目/GNCA STUDENT PRESIDENTIAL SERVICE AWARD

 

从2016年9月开始，大颈华人协会将作为授权组织加入“总统志愿者奖”项目。“总统志愿者奖”（PSVA）是由美国总统颁发，在全国被广泛承认的优质志愿者项目，用以鼓励大众积极参与志愿服务活动。GNCA加入这个项目后，在对我们学生志愿者出色工作认可的同时也向全社区传递共同行动，服务社区的能量。

  

参与条件：

 11-20岁之间的在校学生符合以下标准的可以参与该项目：

 

  • 参加者必须是美国公民或者合法批准的永久居民。

  • 奖项根据终身或者12个月内的服务时间决定。

  • 奖项只针对志愿者服务，其他形式的参与（比如慈善赞助等）不在此奖项的考虑因素内。

  • 法庭命令的社区服务不符合此奖项的评判标准。

  • 奖项由授权组织颁发。

  

评选标准：

 志愿者参与的时间以12个月为单位累计。奖项有不同的等级，标志着参与社区活动的各个阶段的里程碑。等级包括铜奖，银奖，金奖以及最高荣誉：总统终身成就奖（多年总共累计4000小时的服务时间）。

参加方法：

 

  • 志愿者请到以下网址建立你的档案：http://www.presidentialserviceawards.gov/volunteer

    请点击页面上的蓝色“Register”按钮开始注册。

  • 当你注册好了，在你的个人主页上，将“ROS Key” 与GNCA (MNP-9458)关联起来。当你的账户与GNCA关联上，GNCA可以将你在授权机构完成的志愿者服务时间加到你的账号上。

  • GNCA可以查看你的信息和累计服务时间。

  • 志愿者服务时间必须由授权机构当年（六月一日至次年五月二十九日）的证明信确认。

 

颁奖：

 大颈华人协会将在每年六月的夏日party中进行颁奖仪式。

The “Great Neck Chinese Association is a participant with The President's Service Volunteer Awards Program as a Certifying Organization. The President's Service Volunteer Award (PSVA) is the premier volunteer awards program, encouraging citizens to live a life of service through presidential gratitude and national recognition. Recognizing the great work of our student volunteers can deliver a powerful message that encourages others to take action.

 criteria

 Students (11-20 Years of Age) that meet the following criteria are eligible for the PVSA:

 

  • Recipient(s) must be a United States citizen or a lawfully admitted permanent resident of the United States.

  • Awards are issued for service hours served within a 12-month time period or over the course of a lifetime.

  • Awards are issued for volunteer service only; additional levels of participation with the organization (i.e., charitable support) are not a factor considered for the award.

  • Court-ordered community service does not qualify for the award.

  • Awards are issued by approved Certifying Organizations.

    ELIGIBILITY

    Hours are measured over a 12-month period and awards are designated based on cumulative hours. The awards are offered in multiple levels and are designed to recognize each milestone of your service achievement. Levels include bronze, silver, gold and the highest honor, the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award for those who contribute more than 4,000 hours of service in their lifetime.

Connect to New/Existing Volunteer Profiles

 

 

  • Volunteers can create a profile at http://www.presidentialserviceawards.gov/volunteer. Volunteers begin their registration process by clicking the blue “Register” button on this page.

 

 

  • Once you have set up a profile, from your profile page, you will add the ROS Key associated with GNCA (MNP-9458) . Once your account is linked to GNCA, GNCA can track your hours by adding service as you complete it with your approved organization.

     

  • When GNCA logs in to your account, GNCA will see the volunteers’ information and hours logged.

     

  • All hours will need to be supported by a letter from the approved organization verifying service hours performed with within the 12 month award year (June 1 to May 29).

The Great Neck Chinese Association will present the President's Service Award Winners at their Annual BBQ Event in June.
