由 Town of North Hempstead 主办的第8届 Asian-American Festival 将于5月20日在 North Hempstead Beach Park 举行。本次活动的内容包括来自中国，印度，日本，韩国及巴基斯坦5个国家的精彩表演，特色小吃，趣味手工和文化展览。每年都有将近上万名来自皇后区和纳苏郡的游客参加这个活动。阳光明媚的春天正是全家出行的好时机。希望各位千万不要错过这么好的活动。活动免费，不需门票。停车费：现金支付$10 ，信用卡支付$7。
今年大颈华人协会在中国展区为小朋友们准备了面部彩绘和手工活动。中国鼓艺学校金奖团的中国鼓表演和大颈北初中的传统舞蹈《茉莉花》也将参加本次活动的文艺汇演。
此外，我们还需要更多热心人士的帮助。志愿者可以任选一个时间段（11:30-2:30pm，2:30-5:30pm)。工作包括：面部彩绘, 发放tattoo/贴纸, 向游客介绍大颈华人协会/发放宣传品。新色彩美术学院将为志愿者提供免费的面部彩绘培训。在这里我们要特别感谢新色彩美术学院对本次活动和GNCA的大力支持。高中生志愿者会获得由大颈华人协会颁发的义工证。如果您有兴趣加入志愿者团队，请扫下面的二维码。
Town of North Hempstead’s 8th Annual Asian-American Festival will be held on Saturday May 20 from 12pm to 5pm at North Hempstead Beach Park.
Since the first Asian-American Festival in 2010, members of the North Hempstead community have celebrated the Asian cultures represented in North Hempstead yearly during Asian Heritage Month. The celebration includes live music from bands from around the world, food from local restaurants, and cultural activities. The festival promises to be fun for the whole family. There will be a lively market and cultural food representing North Hempstead’s growing ethnic diversity, with food and fun from China, India, Japan, Pakistan, Korea and many more.
The Great Neck Chinese Association will provide free face painting and arts/crafts in China Pavilion. A Chinese drum performance by East Wind Percussion School and a traditional Chinese dance “Jasmine Flower” by Great Neck North Middle School students will also participate in this year’s cultural performance.
The event is free to attend; there is a $10 parking fee per vehicle if paying with cash, $7 parking fee if paying with credit or debit card.
